This recipe features our amazing Butter Chicken recipe as a filling inside of a calzone! Packed with flavorful chicken, spices, and a creamy sauce, this dish is sure to please. The best part? It’s all wrapped up in a soft pizza crust that’s been brushed with parsley butter! Serve it hot out of the oven for a truly delicious experience. An incredible fusion of flavors!
If you are making the butter chicken from scratch allow appropriate time as the recipe recommends a 24hr marinade. One could certainly take the time to make the pizza dough to prepare this calzone recipe, but to save a bit of time and effort i’m using a store bought dough. If you have time, I highly suggest making my recipe for Pizza Dough as it comes out soft and pillowy!

Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the Filling
If making the butter chicken from scratch, start the day before to allow 24 hours for marinating. If using leftover butter chicken, just reheat gently on the stove.
Prepare the Dough
-
Pre-heat oven to 400F
Portion out dough into 4 6oz balls.
Roll out into a circle using flour on your surfaces and hands/rolling pin to keep from sticking.
Spoon 2 Tablespoons of Butter Chicken mixture into the center of each one.
Top with 1 Tablespoon of mozzarella cheese on top.
Seal the Calzones
-
To seal each one, fold the dough over top of the filling to create a semi-circle shape, pressing to seal and crimping the edges with your fingers.
Place the filled calzones onto the parchment lined and cornmeal dusted baking sheet, and cut three, small slits into the tops of each calzone to allow steam to escape.
Place into the oven (middle rack) to bake for about 7 minutes, then brush liberally with parsley butter.
Continue baking for 7 more minutes or until golden-brown and the baked through.
